I'm addicted to you

Aaron is turning into one of 'those guys'.
You know...the guys who think they have to drink 57 thousand cups of coffee before they are ready for the day. You know, like the McDonald's commercial.
Yea, it sucks.

It just started recently, too. But it's getting worse and worse every single day.
Even though he is drinking SO much coffee, I couldn't figure out why we were having to buy it so often.....until today.
I walked into the kitchen right as he was pouring out an entire pot of coffee. He basically told me that if it isn't 'just right' he has to start over.
Ummm, really?
HA!
I just walked away. I don't even know how to deal with that. It could be worse, right?

I could really use a wish right now

I've been neglecting you guys, and I am so sorry.

All I've had time for lately is school, but I did find time every night this week to cook.
Finals will be over next week, and I'll finally be able to breathe again.
I'm interested in seeing what the summer brings, but I really hope it includes:
a job
a new tattoo
a vacation
a lot of art
a vintage swimsuit
a concert or two
a lot of quality time w. my boo & my friends

My new obsession:

Thanks, Matt.

Yummm :)

For a while, I was doing so good...planning my meals every week and actually STICKING to my plan.

And then I kind of fell off the bandwagon.
Last week we ate out FOUR times. Not cool. Ugh.
I've been so stressed with school, I didn't even want to [didn't really have time to] think about cooking, but at this point I'm tired of going out to eat.

I figured if I got back on track making out a meal plan, maybe I wouldn't feel so overwhelmed when dinner time comes along.

So, Here we go.
This week we are having:

Sun: Indian Spiced Chicken pitas w Tzatziki sauce & Hummus Dip
Mon: Country Style Ribs w Spiced Maple Apple Grill Sauce w Mac n Cheese & Cornbread
Tues: Orange Chicken with Garlic Soba Noodles
Weds: Braised Paprika Chicken w Rice
Thurs: French Dip Sandwiches

I'm also looking for new recipes, so if you have any that you absolutely love to make [or that are easy] send them my way! Thanks.

Celebrity Crushes Pt 2 [The Female Version]

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Let's give 'em something to blog about....

Kami must be a mind reader. Just yesterday I was thinking, 'I really want to blog, but have nothing remotely interesting to say.'
Kami fixed that.

This morning Aaron woke me up like this....
'Jamie, Come look at what Kami did last night'

NOT a good way to start the day.
Apparently she got bored. I heard her scratching at our door around 1 am, and I went to put her back in her bed and I scolded her. I'm sure she waited til I was asleep to let the fun begin.

She got into the basket that I keep my potatoes in and pulled them all into the living room. Then, she demolished them. I don't mean that she ate them, she literally gnawed them to pieces, and then strew the pieces all around the room.
I was so pissed off.
Of course, Aaron didn't stick around. As soon as he woke me up, he ran and got in the shower. So I cleaned it all up BY MYSELF, which pissed me off even more.

I wish I would have taken pictures to show you all just how bad it was, but my head wasn't in the right place.

We've gone back and forth about getting a large cage for her to stay in at night and when we have to leave for more than an hour or two. We were on the verge of getting one about a month ago, but then she turned into this little angel. She wasn't tearing anything up [other than her toys], wasn't using the bathroom in the house, wasn't getting into our stuff. But now she is again.
What do you guys think we should do? Have any of you had this problem before? How did you fix it?

Easter Recap

This year for Easter, we decided to visit my sister in Georgia.
It was a lot of fun, and just really nice to get out of Troy.
On Saturday she showed us around her town, and we took Jackson out to play.

And on Sunday we went to Savannah!
I had never been, but have been wanting to go for quite some time.
In case you didn't know, I am a HUGE Paula Deen fan.
I want to be just like her when I grow up.
I have pretty much ALL of her cookware/prepware, and watch her show religiously.
Not only does Paula Deen live in Savannah, she has a restaurant there....SO OF COURSE we had to eat there.

It was amazing.
Granted we spent more time waiting to GET IN to the restaurant than we actually SPENT IN the restaurant. It was totally worth it's hefty price of $25 per person.
I mean, come on.....the mashed potatoes, the turnip greens, the mac-n-cheese---TO DIE FOR.
As if that wasn't enough...the banana nut gooey butter cake was like heaven in my mouth.
The only thing that could have possibly made it better, would be if I got to meet Paula Deen.
Once we finished stuffing our faces, we went walking around the town. We saw boats, went in cute little shops, saw a bunch of monuments, and went in a really cool art gallery.

So, the next time you're in Georgia, consider visiting Savannah. It's a cute town with a lot of personality.

It feels like a Monday..........

Today is summer semester registration at my school.
Seniors get first pick, so we could go register any time between 8 & 10.

I got there at 7:50....mostly because I'm paranoid I won't get in to the class I need, but also because if I'm first in line, I won't have to wait forever and a day.
This is the LAST class I have to take before I can intern. I HAVE to get in.

I was the only student there, so I felt calm and kind of excited that I'd be able to go back home and get back in bed for a while.
Until the secretary told me that I had a 'business hold' on my account.
She said that meant I owed money to the university.

I was immediately pissed, and started trying to think of something that I forgot to pay...but I couldn't come up with anything. She sent me to the business office.
When I got there, the lady was a complete 'B' word.
She told me that the hold on my account was there because I owed them $25.00 for the doctor's visit last week.
She thought she had me...only, I'm smarter than her....
I pulled out my receipt SHOWING clearly that I had paid it, and she told me there was nothing she could do about it and I needed to take it up with the health center.

So, I walk to the health center, and I'm telling the secretary my issue. She pulls up my account and tells me that I indeed paid the fee. EXACTLY!
She calls the secretary at the business office, but that 'B' won't accept it....aka I still had a hold on my account. She had to fax a copy of the receipt THAT I JUST FREAKING SHOWED THE LADY in order to have my hold cleared.

I finally went back to the art dept, thinking I would be able to register for my class. The secretary there told me that my hold was still on. She did me a huge favor and called the business office. Before she could even tell them what she needed to talk to them about, they put her on hold. After about 10 minutes, she hung up and called them again, and asked them why that had not cleared my hold yet....'Because we've been so busy'.
I would believe that....except it was a lie. Because all they do all day is help students, and guess what........there weren't any students in there except for me! [and they sure as heck weren't helping me!]
An hour and a half AFTER I got there, I was finally able to register for my class.
I just don't understand why people have to make things SO difficult for others.
