It's harder than it seems

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was planning on getting in shape, so I wanted to update you guys on my progress.

Since then, I have been walking 3 days a week. Each time I walk, I take 3900 steps, which according to my stride, is a little over a mile.
Last week, however, was kind of a bust. I went home the weekend before, and came back with a stomach virus. I pretty much stayed in bed and couldn't keep anything down for two days straight. By Wednesday I was feeling better, but my stomach & throat were so sore. Needless to say, I didn't do much of anything that week....until Friday came around.
I volunteered was volun-TOLD to work the Clay Conference. For the most part, it was a good experience. But, I'm pretty sure I have social anxiety, so it was really stressful for me.
Stress makes me want to drink soda. So I did. A LOT.
I mean, like 4 bottles of Dr. Pepper Friday, and 3 on Saturday.
It was bad. I mean, it tasted good, but I literally felt disgusted with myself.

THAT is when I decided I HAD to come up with a plan.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
I am walking, then coming home to p90x ab ripper
Tuesdays, Thursdays
All three workouts on the bender ball
Saturdays, Sundays
Rest Days

PEOPLE...
P90x is NO JOKE.
I knew it was going to be hard, but I went into it with the mindset of 'I'm not going to cheat'.
And I didn't.
So, by the time the 10 minute mark hit the screen, I had to stop, because I was on the verge of throwing up.
TMI..sorry. BUT I can still feel the burn, and it feels good.

I've been told the puke threshold is good. I disagree- but whatevs. :) Good for you for getting in shape! I'm having a love/hate relationship with my fuckmill and it kicks my ass. I'm being bullied into something called "Ultimate Body Challenge" and it apparently kicks your ass hard. People cry and puke in this thing. BUT everyone I know who's done it lost a ton of weight and look hot. I might have to do it. It's $300 for a 12 week session. I'm scuurrred.

And I have social anxiety as well. I still struggle, and it sucks. I have to really push myself to go out sometimes but I am always glad I did. ;)

working out definitely makes you feel all around better. i've been trying to get back into the habit of going to the gym recently, just to stay healthy mainly and build muscle. one definite benefit of working out is you just feel better, and my skin looks better (i.e. less acne)! haha

and i'm pretty sure i have some sort of social anxiety to some extent. i get super nervous around people i don't know, especially in big groups. i'd like to think i'm getting better about it, but i definitely understand how you feel. & when i get nervous, i tend to drink a lot (not that kind of drink haha) too! i can down any kind of drink in no time if i'm freaking out on the inside.

yeah.. p90x is hard core and I'm jealous that you have it! I have been trying to run at least 3 days a week and I got the 30 day shred video, which I unfortunately am not very consistent with but I am trying. I am really trying to work out more so that I can get Chris in shape. Since there is a chance he might go into the air force he needs to be in shape before he gets to BMT. It is a good motivator for me and I hope I'm a good motivator for him.

good luck! I know you can do it!
