Every word you say I think I should write down

Okay, enough with the healthy eating/exercising blogs, and onto the good stuff...

My sister and I FINALLY caught up with the world and saw Avatar.
It was amazing.
It took me a few minutes to get used to the whole 3D glasses thing [my eyes had trouble focusing!!], but once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This weekend I also saw Shutter Island.
All I have to say is............
it seriously messed with my brain....seriously.
I don't know what to believe. But, it was good. In a freaky 'I hope this never happens to me' kind of way.

In other news....
Our spring break starts in exactly one week. Which I am totally ready for because I REALLY need a break. And totally NOT ready for because it's not really warm yet.
*sigh* Here's to hoping the weather decides to be amazing while we're at the beach.

Also, I'm kind of having a dilemma.
You guys are always so helpful.....so,
my roots are showing BAD
should I
a] stick with dying my hair brown black

b] revert to dying my hair light brown [circa 2007]

c] just give myself burgundy highlights [circa 2008]

Eating Right

Since I've promised myself to get healthy, I decided to plan our meals for the week. I never believed in planning meals before. Mostly because I am indecisive, and I like to wait until the last minute to choose. I have done a lot of research on healthy eating plans, and I couldn't decide on just one, so I am picking & choosing. It's actually really great. Usually, we spend about 50-60$ on groceries, because we just don't know for sure what we want, so we get a bunch of stuff....and sometimes those things end up going bad before we think to use them. This week we only spent 32$ and only got what we needed for THIS week's meals/snacks.

On the menu for this week:

Stuffed Eggplant with Brown Rice
Hot and Sour Asian Lettuce Wraps
Turkey Meatloaf

As I was researching, I found an article that said you shouldn't totally cut all of your guilty pleasures out, just cut them down. I've decided to allow myself ONE glass of sweet tea a day.
Granted, this sweet tea isn't even what I consider real sweet tea, so it's not MUCH of a cheat, but still.

New pleasures that don't make me feel guilty:

SoySlender Chocolate Soy Milk
Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Granola Bar

It's harder than it seems

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was planning on getting in shape, so I wanted to update you guys on my progress.

Since then, I have been walking 3 days a week. Each time I walk, I take 3900 steps, which according to my stride, is a little over a mile.
Last week, however, was kind of a bust. I went home the weekend before, and came back with a stomach virus. I pretty much stayed in bed and couldn't keep anything down for two days straight. By Wednesday I was feeling better, but my stomach & throat were so sore. Needless to say, I didn't do much of anything that week....until Friday came around.
I volunteered was volun-TOLD to work the Clay Conference. For the most part, it was a good experience. But, I'm pretty sure I have social anxiety, so it was really stressful for me.
Stress makes me want to drink soda. So I did. A LOT.
I mean, like 4 bottles of Dr. Pepper Friday, and 3 on Saturday.
It was bad. I mean, it tasted good, but I literally felt disgusted with myself.

THAT is when I decided I HAD to come up with a plan.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
I am walking, then coming home to p90x ab ripper
Tuesdays, Thursdays
All three workouts on the bender ball
Saturdays, Sundays
Rest Days

PEOPLE...
P90x is NO JOKE.
I knew it was going to be hard, but I went into it with the mindset of 'I'm not going to cheat'.
And I didn't.
So, by the time the 10 minute mark hit the screen, I had to stop, because I was on the verge of throwing up.
TMI..sorry. BUT I can still feel the burn, and it feels good.

Today is Wednesday

Happy Valentine's Day!

We celebrated Valentine's Day early because Aaron has to work ALL day long today.
Friday he took me to Mikata's [a hibachi grill] and then to see the movie Valentine's Day.
The food was good, and so was the movie!
I was a little skeptical at first, because it had SO many big name actors in it, but it really was worth going to see it in the theater.

Yesterday I drove home to spend some time with my family.
My sister and I ended up going to see Dear John.
Even though I already saw it, it was still JUST as good. I can tell it's going to be one of those movies I can watch over and over.

When I got back to Troy today, there was a surprise waiting for me on the table.

A bouquet of flowers and a sweet card!
I have the sweetest husband ever :)
