25

I've been wondering about you a lot lately.
What you'd be like now.
If you'd have kids or a wife.
A steady job.
I wonder if we'd still keep in touch,
or if we'd ever hang out.
If you'd still be rapping.
I wonder if you would have made it big by now,
or if you'd changed your ways.

But always, when I'm overwhelmed with my 'what if' thoughts, I remember that it doesn't even matter because you're in a better place.

Spoiler Alert

Today, while Mr. O was visiting me, we decided to do a vlog about the high [and low] parts of our friendship. But by the time we got done, it was 7+ minutes, and we thought that most people would think that would be too long. SO, we took a Tosh.O approach and made a 'spoiler alert' type video. If you like what you see and/or are curious to see the full version, let me know and we will post it for your viewing pleasure.

Until then:

Would you like fries with that?

Today Aaron and I decided to get out of Troy for a bit. We headed up to Montgomery, ate at Five Guys (so amazing), did a little last minute Christmas shopping, and then met up with Matt to see Black Swan.

I had heard GREAT things about it, and since I love Mila Kunis, I went into it thinking it was going to be amazing. Don't get me wrong, the acting was great, but the story line was just down right disturbing. Not my cup of tea, at all. I won't go into details, but basically, I wish I would have at least waited to see this until it came out on dvd. Oh well.

On our way home, I started reading I Was Amelia Earhart by Jane Mendelsohn.
I'll let you know how that turns out when I finish.

When I got home, I baked. A lot. Like...for 4 straight hours.
More on that tomorrow....

idk. my bff, jill.

Since I've had a lot of time on my hands lately, I've been painting/crafting to take up my time.
Usually I listen to music or watch t.v. so I don't have to sit in silence.
The other day I was watching iCarly [let the hating begin], and I heard someone say something along the lines of 'we're going to be best friends forever'.
I couldn't help but laugh.
It made me think back to my childhood [what can I say, I've been feeling nostalgic lately.]
I had four 'best friends' from preschool until about 10th grade of high school. At that point, we all kind of went our own way. We were still friends in high school, but not the same kind of spend the night at each others houses every weekend, make up dances to pop songs, pretend to be mermaids in the pool kind of bond that we had all those years before.
Other than the fact that one of them passed away our freshman year of college, I could count on my fingers how many times I've talked to the other three since high school graduation.
It's sad actually. I genuinely thought these girls were going to be the people I turned to through all the twists & turns that life took me on. Obviously, I met new friends, and I am more than thankful for them. Without my friends, sometimes I'm not sure how I would get by. As hard as it is to admit that friendships fade away, the fact is that the memories from them don't.
I'm grateful for all of my past & future friendships, but I am no longer naive enough to think that ALL of them last forever.

I can only tell you what it feels like....

Remember how I said I was going to be busy?
Wellllllll, I have been.

Thursday night, we drove the 5+ hours to my sister's house.
Got up Friday morning and made it to the cheesecake factory for lunch. I got the spicy chicken chipotle pasta, and it was amazing--as usual!
For dessert, my sister and I shared the Tiramisu cheesecake. My mouth is watering as I type this, and I wish I could go back, now!
On top of all that, my sister MADE me a birthday cake.
It was sooo good!
That night, we went to see Salt. It was okay, but I was expecting it to be a lot better. At times it just seemed to go on forever, and ever.
Saturday morning we went to the local water park. It was smaller than what I'm used to, but it was really nice. It wasn't crowded, so we didn't have to wait to do things. It was fun seeing my lil nephew play in the water. But the best part, no doubt, was the lazy river. It felt so amazing just floating along without a care in the world.
Later, we went to see The Other Guys. It was so hilarious. I'm not going to lie, they showed some of the main funny parts during the trailers, but there were enough unexpected scenes to make up for it. I would definitely recommend it, and I will probably end up going to see it again when Aaron comes home.
Sunday, we made the long journey back home, and I spent the rest of the day lazing around baking cookies.
On Monday, myself and my friend Kelly headed up to Auburn to see our friends Matt and Frisco graduate. They aren't just any friends, they've been our best friends since high school, and pretty much the only people I've kept in constant contact with since.
Needless to say, I am very, very proud.

And now my journey continues....
Off to my MIL's today, then heading to north Alabama tomorrow for colorguard practice.
Hope you all are still enjoying the summer!

Yesterday...in review

The Good:
Two of my classes got canceled
I got a new laptop [more on this later]
We got to see Wolfman early [and free]
It was casino night on campus
Aaron and I won a total of 210,000 FAKE dollars
With that fake money, we won MadGab
I got triple chocolate pie at waffle house, and it was amazing
We had a lot of fun with our friends that we don't get to hang out with very often

The Bad:
When we got home from the movies, we found out that Kami figured out how to climb onto furniture
She chewed up not only my cheap earbuds, but Aaron's $50 zune headphones AND broke his hardshell zune case by chewing it to death....also, somehow found a way to get the batteries out of our t.v. remote control.....
We tried to use our fake money to win the surround sound Aaron wanted, but a group of people put their money together and got it for 8.5 million fake dollars
Waffle house didn't have icecream :(

The Ugly:
When we got home from casino night, Kami had ripped the entire cover to the back of our BRAND NEW recliner off
I cut myself really bad on one of the nails trying to fix it, and cried like a baby because I was so frustrated

But, Did I mention I got a new laptop?!

The sun won't always shine but tomorrow will find a way

My BFF IRL, Matt, gave me this award:
Wasn't that sweeeeeeet?

So, the rules are to tell you all SEVEN things about me.
I'll try not to tell you things you may already know.

Here we go:

  1. I just applied one of those cleansing face masks [because I'm a girl and I like to pamper myself], but it is so tight and plastic like...I feel like the carver from nip/tuck. I may never do this again.
  2. The reason I don't like cereal is because once upon a time, my sister won a year supply from general mills. And Nanny made us eat it every.single.day.................until it was gone.
  3. I stayed in my pajamas ALL day yesterday and did absolutely nothing. & it felt amazing.
  4. When I was a freshman in college, I used to wish & pray that I could take a semester off, to figure things out, and make my creative dreams come true. Now that it's actually about to happen, I DON'T WANT it to. I just want to finish my BA and get out of here.
  5. The only regret I have [since the summer of 2007] is when I got my hair cut two weeks ago. I am pretty much traumatized, and don't plan on going through this again for a very, VERY long time.
  6. Anytime I get down, I go back and read my OLDDDD livejournal entries and laugh [and sometimes cry] because I was so emotional/depressed/immature back then.
  7. Sometimes I wish that I would have created this whole blog totally anonymously. But I am very thankful for all the friends I have met all the while being myself.
Okay, okay....so who do I think
is a beautiful blogger?

So, go check her out and let her know that you think she is a beautiful blogger, too!

Friend Swap

I'm always looking for new people to read and follow, but sometimes I am unsuccessful.

I decided to do a friend swap.

So, here's the deal.

I will list 5 blogs that I feel are 'follow worthy' for you all to check out.
Then, you can leave comments with links to blogs who you think are worth reading.

If this one is successful, I was thinking of doing this once a month.

Here are my five:

Southern Domestic Goddess

A Rush of Blog to the Head

Cooler Ranch or Nacho Cheese

Yo Mama's Blog

Smell the Coffee Lisa
