This year for Easter, we decided to visit my sister in Georgia.
It was a lot of fun, and just really nice to get out of Troy.
On Saturday she showed us around her town, and we took Jackson out to play.
And on Sunday we went to Savannah!
I had never been, but have been wanting to go for quite some time.
In case you didn't know, I am a HUGE Paula Deen fan.
I want to be just like her when I grow up.
I have pretty much ALL of her cookware/prepware, and watch her show religiously.
Not only does Paula Deen live in Savannah, she has a restaurant there....SO OF COURSE we had to eat there.
It was amazing.
Granted we spent more time waiting to GET IN to the restaurant than we actually SPENT IN the restaurant. It was totally worth it's hefty price of $25 per person.
I mean, come on.....the mashed potatoes, the turnip greens, the mac-n-cheese---TO DIE FOR.
As if that wasn't enough...the banana nut gooey butter cake was like heaven in my mouth.
The only thing that could have possibly made it better, would be if I got to meet Paula Deen.
Once we finished stuffing our faces, we went walking around the town. We saw boats, went in cute little shops, saw a bunch of monuments, and went in a really cool art gallery.
So, the next time you're in Georgia, consider visiting Savannah. It's a cute town with a lot of personality.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, especially the Paula Dean thing. I want to hate on it so bad, but I will be a friend right now and just say good for you.
If you want to get out of Troy this weekend, just let me know...
I love me some Paula Deen! I am going to be her when I grow up. I love the accent, the copious amounts of butter, and I would totally let her hit me with a spatula. It is my goal to get down there to eat there. :) Plus I love how she's always cooking with all of that jewelry, laughing, with nice nails. Move over Martha- Paula is the hotness. I have the cookbooks and am saving up for the cookware. *sigh*
hey! Did you go on any of the haunted tours in Savannah? I want to do one of those too..
@ Matt - Thanks for not hating on me. I mean...I know you don't like her because you think she says "ya'll" too much, but come on....I SWEAR if you tasted her food you'd have an old lady crush on her like you have on Mrs. Burch.
@ Sara - If you ever really do make plans to come down, you should totally let me know. I will meet you down there and I'll drag Matt along with me. No, we didn't do the haunted tours. I think those are usually at night [we didn't stay that long]. My sister and I were interested, but Nanny would have freaked out.
Paula Deen is the shizz! I love how she is the only cook on food network that actually uses a whole tub of butter for one recipie. I attempt to make her dishes but they never turn out. LOL!
I LOVE SAVANNAH!!! I used to live an hour away and go there all the and I miss it! I've never been to Paula Dean's restuarant bc, yeah, the line is always way long.
